Alan’s career, during over 25 years in the City, has encompassed the roles of stockbroker, fund manager and latterly investor relations consultant.  He managed one of the world’s largest equity and bond portfolios for a major Middle East institution after working as a senior fund manager at Gartmore for several years.  His earlier career involved both UK and US institutional sales for stockbrokers Rowe and Pitman and White Weld respectively and research with Morgan Grenfell.

Over the last decade he has advised a number of major companies on financial relations, including France Telecom, Altadis, CNP Assurance, General Electric (US), Xerox, USF&G, NatWest, Australia and New Zealand Bank, Abbey National, NTT, Escom and British Steel.

Alan is a member of the Investor Relations Society (UK), National Investor Relations Institute (USA) and the Institute of Investment Management and Research.  He is the author and joint author of a number of articles on international investor relations both in the UK and in the US.
